What patients say on Google
“Our family’s experience with this LifeStance location was deeply upsetting. I am withholding the therapist’s name because I understand that mental health is sometimes difficult to navigate, but the way this situation was handled felt unfair and unprofessional. Our child was taken into custody by police officers and transferred to a behavioral health facility that we found deeply distressing and utterly disgusting. We had voiced our concerns, yet we were given no meaningful explanation of how that facility was chosen, no opportunity to discuss the placement, and no notice of what we should be doing as parents. The therapist showed little empathy at a time when we were frightened and trying to understand an unfamiliar process. The communication throughout this experience was horrible. We were only able to speak with the therapist twice, and both conversations felt extremely rushed. Even after our child gave permission for us to speak with the therapist and receive information, we were given only bits and pieces, not helpful at all. We felt brushed off when we tried to ask questions as concerned parents. Even at the front desk, the receptionist offered us no guidance or reassurance, leaving us feeling alone and unsure of what was happening. We were left to figure out a frightening situation on our own. You would think compassion and clear communication would be basic expectations at a mental health practice. Apparently, that was too much to ask here. At the receiving facility, our child waited in the lobby for eight hours before getting a bed. Our child received no meaningful help there, just as we felt he received no meaningful help from LifeStance. I know this review is about LifeStance, but the decision to send him to that facility is a big part of our concern. We cannot understand how it was considered an appropriate placement. We also received no follow-up communication from LifeStance, absolutely nothing. I do not know what their usual follow-up process is, but the silence left us feeling that no one there cared. As parents trying to get help for our child, we felt dismissed and disrespected. Families deserve clear communication and compassion. Based on our experience, I would urge anyone seeking care for a loved one to consider another location.”
“Booking the appointment exceeded my expectations, and my appointment with Janet was excellent and she once again exceeded my expectations. It was very easy to open up to her and she made me feel very comfortable once again. Our conversations just flowed. I look forward to the next one. They were very helpful. She was excellent as a Christian counselor and to be more specific a Catholic counselor as I am a warrior of Christ. She seems to understand me very well and I am going to continue going back to her by myself and with my wife also.. Happy Easter week to everybody.”
“Great if you just need an appointment. If you have medication issues or questions, or need to call the office… do not expect any immediate care. There has been several issues I’ve had at this facility that I’ve never experienced and it takes them days to respond to you. This just feels like a big corporation that could care less how you really are mentally and are just looking for a payout.”
“It's difficult to reach someone at the office during business hours. After seeing the same provider for 1-1/2 years, I needed to reschedule an appointment due to a mandatory work event. My appointment was scheduled for Friday. Appointments cannot be canceled or rescheduled thru the patient portal, you have to call. I attempted to contact the office on Wednesday to reschedule, after 30 min, I had to abandon the call. I called back on Thursday and was on hold for 20 min. Finally got someone on the phone and was told I'd be charged $100 for rescheduling in less than 48 hours. I let them know that this was the first time I've rescheduled an appointment but that my provider had no call, no showed an appointment with me & the provider scheduled to make up that appointment was an hour late and I wasn't compensated for my time. I also explained that I tried calling the day before (within the 48 hour guideline) and couldn't get thru. The office stated the charge is automatic and can't be overridden. I've moved on to a new provider that's more accessible.”
